Friday the 13th!

Hello my lovely readers!

Today is Friday the 13th! I love the number 13, and Fridays are just plain awesome. So this is a very good day! Plus there is a full moon tonight! Isn't it wonderful?

So I spent the last few years growing my hair out, making it long and beautiful! It started off around chin length, and to grow it long, you need the patience of Job. But Long hair was well worth the wait!
I had it cut recently! It feels really short now, but I love it. It's really light now too! Here are before and after pics! Since the pictures are a bit hard to see, I added a red line to show you where my hair ends.

Yes, I'm in my pj's!

It's hard to see the ends, because I died them black! :)
Wow, that was a lot of hair! Anyway, I also wanted to let you all know that today is also the release date of the sequel to Witch In The Woods, Clearly's Corruption! See what I mean by a very good day?

Here is the book's details:

Victor had everything he wanted after defeating the witch of Beth’s Hollow, but when Clearly’s screams suddenly echo through the night, his eyes are opened to the truth. The witch had other plans…

Clearly is corrupted, and if that wasn’t enough, the witch has possessed her, working restlessly to live again in Clearly’s body. Victor and his friends must find a way to stop her before the rise of the Blood Moon, which is less than a month away. If They fail, everything Victor has worked so hard to achieve will have been for not and much more than Clearly’s life will be lost.

It is the perfect read for Friday the 13th!

Free Ebook!

Hello my lovely readers!

I know it has been a while, and for that I do apologize! You see, I have been working on another blog post, and miss placed my pictures...

I've been a bit Boromir meme crazed lately...

And I have been busy with the coming release for Clearly's Corruption! (Witch in the Woods #2) on June 13!

In celebration of the coming release of the second eBook, I have decided to make Witch In The Woods free on Amazon, Barnes and Nobles, and Smashwords on June 7 & 8! Here is your chance to download your very own copy without having to spend a penny! Can it get any better than that?

But do not forget that it's for two days only. You only have a limited time! I don't mean to make you do a mad dash to your E reader, or computer, but only to encourage you to mark your calendars! I would also be very grateful if you would help spread the word!

Do you know anyone who likes Young Adult fiction? Paranormal Fantasies? Witches and curses? If so, please tell them about this free weekend!

That's all I have for you today, but expect to see more from me very soon!
Have a good day!

Popin' Cookin' Sushi!

Good day everyone!

So back in March I was browsing amazon, and stumbled across something.... Well... Awesome!
I found this!

It's Japanese candy sushi that you make yourself! So I ordered a few boxes from Japan, and forced my siblings to join me in a super awesome, nerdy fun time!

The instructions of course are all in Japanese, but there are videos on YouTube that you can watch. I certainly hoped that this would be as cool as it looked, and would taste good too. Please, at least let it taste good! I didn't want to have spent five dollars a box on something nasty! But if it did taste grose then at least I got free shipping! Lol

Here is what's inside the box.

From left to right: rice, egg, salmon, water solution, fish roe, soy sauce, and seaweed!

Now set the table!

You mix the powder packets with water in the container, and wow does it smelled good! Sorry I don't have pictures of the actual making of the candy!

After the candy is made, you can put them together however you please! Here is the candy I made!

Isn't it cute?

Put some candy soy sauce on it!

I am glad to tell you all that they even tasted good! Like grape and bubble gum! I will definitely be buying this product again! It is too much fun not to! Popin Cookin also has other candy foods you can make!

My sister's sushi!

I hope you enjoyed this post, and maybe even got inspired to try something new! Have a good day everyone!

Spooky Good Dessert!

Hello readers!

In my last post, I said that I would share with you the pure awesome-ness of my crazy mind! In translation: a spooky twist on a favorite summer dessert! That dessert is a big, chocolate, smores brain of pure deliciousness!

I know what you are thinking. "Whoa! That's a big ass brain!"
Thank you. It is, isn't it? lol
Now I'll tell you how I made this delicious and probably heart attack inducing, smores brain!

First I took our jello brain mold, and buttered it up! It took a long time, at least twenty minutes to get between all the ridges. This is a time consuming thing to make...

After the brain mold was buttered, I melted Hershey bars and brushed it in the brain mold, making the scrumptious outer, chocolaty shell you see above! Once the chocolate was set, I layered the cavity full with marshmallow cream, chocolate chips,  and crushed gram crackers (mixed with butter like a pie shell) in that order! I was able to layer it twice before it was full!

I could have ended there, but I decided that it needed a chocolate bottom! *Wha-pow!* It would make it just that much sweeter! But alas! I was fresh out of Hershey bars.... *Looks devilishly at bag of chocolate chips*

So I melted the chocolate chips to cover the bottom with with more happiness! Once it was all set up, I got it out of the mold. Unfortunately, I couldn't do it alone, so I enlisted my mom to help me out!

After a while, we finally got it out of the mold and the brain was beautiful! A little beat up, but beautiful! I felt like Dr Frankenstein, and this brain was my glorious monster! My glorious monster that me and my family would quickly devour! *laughs like mad scientist*

It's the perfect dessert for watching The Walking Dead!

Or Paranorman!

It was a beautiful, crumbling mess of pure tasty-ness!
It cost me about $13's to make, and it was worth it!
On second thought it was only around $10... The other three dollars went to nasty soy milk, which I think I like about as much as regular milk. If you know me, you would know that I don't like milk. Unless it is chocolate...

Well, I hope you all enjoyed this post about yummy brains! I would also like to apologize, for I made every single one of you guys hunger for such a treat... The possibilities with this brain are endless!
Next time I will totally make a brain with peanut butter! *gasp* Like a big Reese's brain!

Have a nice day!

Hello once again everyone!
Oh look, I got a new make over for my blog!
(Yes I am a Halloween fanatic...)

It has been a while since I posted anything on here, and I am sorry about that! I've just been too darn busy!
But I wanted to keep y'all up to date with what is going on! In my last post, I talked about how Korben and Ringo had eggs, and we were hoping they would hatch...

Unfortunately, they are down to one egg, and I am pretty certain that it is a bad one... Despite my hopes for chicks, it is not happening this year. It has been almost three weeks since the eggs arrived, which is the average time it takes for eggs to to hatch (or so I've read online). So, if this last remaining egg does not hatch, I am sorry to say that I will have to become an egg snatcher. We don't need no rotten eggs...

And now for the big news! I have started a new blog called Witch In The Woods, to cover all the news about my book series!

Here is the link to check it out!

Witch In The Woods

I don't have a lot of time to blog today, but be sure to come back soon, for I'll show you a Halloween-ish twist on a favorite summer dessert! Can you guess what it is?

Have a good day!

Fools! All of you.

Hello once again!

It is April fools day, and every year my brothers try to fool me with the same silly prank. We will be sitting down eating dinner, when they will look up at me a gasp. "Taylor there is a big spider behind you!"

I don't bother look any more. I just laugh and continue to eat my dinner. Maybe this time I'll say something like this: "Well brother dudes', you can tell that spider that he ruined my un-birthday, and is uninvited to my tea party! It is a good thing I have you guys to watch my back! Thanks to you, I can live happily like cabbages and kings! Now off with his head!"

Enough about that, for I thought I would brush you all up on our history, by telling you that April Fools Day dates back to 1582, but was only popularized in 1700 by English pranksters. The problem is that no one really knows how it was started. There are a few theories, like the switch from the Julian calendar to the Gregorian calendar. People who refused to switch to the Gregorian calendar celebrated New Years on April first, and those who did make the switch would try to prank them.

Anyway, I though it would be fun to tell you about some things you might not know about today!
If you do not like this holiday, I certainly hope you don't live in Scotland! The Scottish love this holiday so much, that they made it a two day holiday! Although I hear that the second day is mostly about placing "Kick me" signs on another's backside.
In Belgium, (I am not sure if this is true, but it could be) kids will lock their parents or teachers outside and will only let them in if they promise to give them sweets! The kids got this holiday figured out! I've seen the chocolate they make there, so who wouldn't want some of those?

On this day in 1957, BBC News said that Swiss farmers were enjoying a bountiful spaghetti crop, and even provided pictures! Many viewers called, wanting to know how they could grow their own spaghetti tree, to which BBC replied "Place a sprig of spaghetti in a tin of tomato sauce and hope for the best."

Spaghetti crop photo!

Now it's time to get serious. On April 1st, 1915, in the midst of World War I, a French aviator flew over a German camp and dropped what appeared to be a big ass bomb. German soldiers immediately dove for cover, awaiting the devastating blow! When no explosion followed, they went to investigate. What they found was a large foot ball with a note saying: "April Fool!"

Interesting, no? I didn't even make this up! I read it online, so I am not sure how much of this was true, with the exception of the spaghetti crop prank, which made me laugh. People actually believed it! Ha ha ha *wipes away tear*

I'll leave you with the wise words of my five year old brother: You don't need cream, unless you really need it!
Oh how I wish I had his wisdom!

Happy April Fools Day!
